SC2, Supply Chain Services & Solutions in Peoria, IL is looking for a Communications Manager to promote our company's mission, products and/or services. This role works closely with management teams and execs to shape a company's image and values, as well as the appropriate methods to communicate them. Responsibilities include identifying press opportunities and developing content to be disseminated via social media, websites, newsletters, press releases and any other distribution channels. The communications manager ensures messaging aligns with key business strategies. This role will also serve as a company's media liaison and formal spokesperson, conducting briefings and press conferences if necessary.

Communications manager will create, implement and oversee communications programs, be it internal or external, that effectively describe and promote the organization services. Responsibilities will focus on our 100% Employee Ownership Culture educating our employees on benefits of the ESOP. Facilitate and educate employee owners during the ESOP meetings held at our facilities.

 Performance of a variety of tasks, such as the creation and development of print and online advertising, email marketing, web site management and content development, press releases, bylined articles, white papers, corporate videos and marketing collateral, RFP review and development, marketing budget development and cost tracking. Aid in the preparation of presentations and/or speeches geared toward employees and customers.

This role provides supervision and direction to staff / employees and often in conjunction with the marketing department, reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications.

A Communication Manager's skill set:

  • Must be a confident professional communicator and presenter
  • Write, proofread, and revise communications
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally
  • Editor/Content manager of internal newsletter and TV communications in the shop facilities
  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Superior project management and time management skills
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
  • Track and measure engagement
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • People management experience and demonstration of people development
  • Understanding of sensitivity around material non-public information
  • Ability to travel locally 10-20%

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required Public Relations/Communications/Marketing preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Communications
